SHC/The Arc of Medina County offers two types of scholarships for college students.

H.O.P.E. Scholarship
SHC members, or an unmarried child or grandchild of a member who is working toward a degree in a disability-related field can apply for the H.O.P.E Scholarship. The scholarship committee awards up to two scholarships each year through the SHC Endowment Fund. The scholarships for 2016 will be in the amount of $1,000. This is a one year, non-renewable scholarship. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a disability-related field.  Click here for an application packet.
Sharon and Kristine Dunham Scholarship
Non-traditional students who are seeking a degree in any area of study may apply for the Sharon and Kristine Dunham Scholarship. The Dunham siblings established the scholarship in 2014 to honor the memory of their sisters. The scholarship committee awards one, $1,000 scholarship each year. This is a one year, non-renewable scholarship. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and meet the application criteria for a non-traditional student. Ideally the applicant has connections to SHC either through work, family or community involvement. Click here for an application packet.

Applications and Deadlines
The scholarships are awarded at the SHC Annual Meeting in May. Interested applicants must complete the appropriate scholarship application form, which is available on our website, or by calling 330-722-1900 ext. 100 or ext. 265.
